This was a big one. A 2,550 square foot metal shop building in Lodi, CA - the kind of open, wide-open space that really shows off what a proper floor coating can do. The owner wanted something that could hold up to real use without looking like a utility floor. That's exactly what we delivered.
We went with our Orbit blend flake epoxy system and applied a full double 2-layer topcoat across the entire slab. Two topcoats isn't just a nice extra - it's what separates a floor that holds up for years from one that starts showing wear in a few months. Shops take a beating. Foot traffic, vehicle weight, dropped tools, fluid spills. This system is built to handle all of it.
The Orbit blend gives the floor that dark, multi-toned look with flecks of blue, white, black, and gray mixed through. Up close, you can see the depth in the flake pattern. From a distance, it reads as a clean, professional charcoal tone. It works well in a shop like this because it stays looking sharp even when it's dirty - and that matters in a working space.
What stands out about a job this size is how consistent the finish has to be wall to wall. No thin spots, no uneven coverage. The floor has to look just as good in the far corners as it does right at the door. That's the kind of attention to detail we bring to every square foot, whether it's a two-car garage or a 2,500-plus square foot shop.
Flake epoxy flooring is one of the best investments you can make in a shop or workspace. It's durable, it's easy to clean, and it makes the whole building feel more finished and functional. If you've got bare concrete sitting there collecting dust and oil stains, this is what's possible.
