Sacramento-area patios take a beating: long summers well over 100°F, winter rain, and years of sun on bare concrete. An exterior flake coating gives a tired patio or front porch a finished, textured surface that is easier to clean and better looking than bare or painted concrete.

Outdoor coatings are not the same as garage coatings. Standard epoxy can yellow in direct sun, so exterior jobs get a UV-stable topcoat and a textured finish that keeps traction when the surface is wet.

Prep done properly

Coatings fail when prep is skipped. Every coated floor is mechanically ground (not acid-etched), cracks and pits are repaired, and old coatings are removed down to bare concrete before anything goes down.

Workmanship warranty in writing

Exterior Flake FAQ

Will an exterior coating get too hot to walk on?

Any surface in full sun gets warm. Lighter flake blends absorb less heat than dark ones, so we usually recommend lighter blends outdoors.

Is it slippery when wet?

The flake texture adds grip, and we can add more texture where you need it, such as near pools and at entries.

Can you coat stamped or previously sealed concrete?

Often yes, but old sealers have to come off first. Send photos with your estimate request and we will tell you what prep it needs.

Do you need to come out to price my floor?

No. Most projects can be priced from the size, the floor condition and a few photos you text or upload. No home visit needed.

Is there a minimum project size?

Yes. Most projects start at $1,500, metallic floors start at $2,500, concrete sealing projects start at $1,150, and LVP or laminate flooring (most rooms) starts at $2,000 installed. Smaller areas can often be added to a larger job.
